In this one day class you will learn how to make a classic frilled Peony, modern style sugar roses, rose buds, green filler buds and leaves.
You will work with my favourite flower paste that can be rolled super thin and is very versatile! You will learn how to make the center of a rose, frill and vein your petals. You will learn how to make quick and easy filler buds that are individually wired. We will also work with some pretty petal dusts.
This is a perfect class to learn two essential wedding flowers and to use these foundations skills for future flower making.
Everything you need is supplied. Please note: this is a flower lesson only - we will not be covering a cake.

garden fairy cake
In this class you will learn how to level your cake and ganache smoothly to create a sharp top edge. You will learn how to colour and knead your fondant and cover your cake to achieve a smooth finish with sharp top edge!
You will learn simple and effective modelling techniques to create this cute little sitting fairy with gelatine wings! You will also learn how to make sweet little flowers, leaves and sprouting toadstools to complete your cake.!
You will need to bring your own cake and other items. A full list of what you need to bring will be given to you upon booking.

petite rose cake
This petite cake makes a gorgeous little gift for someone special!
Everything is supplied for you in the class! You will learn how to crumb coat a 4 inch round white chocolate mud cake and cover with rolled fondant. I will show you how to smooth your fondant and create a nice top edge to your cake.
You will learn how to work with flowerpaste in your colour choice and learn how to shape and attach petals to make a classic vintage rose as well as some rose leaves.
We will work with stunning edible gold paint to create a casual modern brushed look around the base of the cake.
You will take home your completed cake on a cake board as well as Magical Cakes workshop notes.

bird house cake
In this class you will learn how to stack and carve your cake by using a pattern. You can choose your own pretty colours and I will show you how to create this adorable bird house cake step by step!
You will learn how to model a little bird, and pretty little flowers and leaves. You will learn how to create panelled sides and a layered shingled roof. This design can be adapted to many different themes.
The completed cake stands 21cm tall.
You will need to bring a 9 inch square cake and fondant. The recipe for the cake will be given to you.

red robin cake
This cute little cake would make the perfect gift for someone special at Christmas time!
Come along and join me for a fun afternoon covering a 4 inch round cake and modelling this cute little red robin perched on a twig!
Everything is supplied for you - including a delicious 4 inch round gingerbread mud cake, white chocolate ganache, fondant and a red gingham bow!

santa at the beach
In this full day class you will learn how to cover your fruit cake with almond icing and fondant to achieve a nice smooth finish.
You will learn how to make a standing Santa Claus in his swimsuit holding a surfboard as well as tonal coloured waves, edible sand and hand made jandals. You will also cover your board.
This is a fruit cake only class and you will be given a list of what to bring to class as well as my delicious moist fruit cake recipe. You will also receive my workshop notes and recipes.

rose tea cup
You will be provided with everything you need to make this pretty tea cup and saucer cake with rose buds and pearls!
The class will cover how to make an edible saucer, carving a cake, crumb coating and covering with fondant. You will work with pastillage, flower paste, edible gold paint and royal icing..
You will learn how to make quick and simple rose buds and larger bloom for the center of the tea cup.
Students will also receive Magical Cakes workshop notes and the cake recipe used. Please note this is a petite cake - carved from a 4 inch round .

sugar flowers masterclass
In this 2 day class you will learn all about making modern beautiful sugar flowers ideally suited to special occassion cakes.
You will make a Hibiscus, Frangipani, Cherry Blossom Branch, Wild Poppy and an open Peony.
The first day you will learn how to vein, frill and wire individual petals and buds and the following day work with beautiful dusts and learn how to tape and assemble your flowers.
Everything you need is supplied and you will also receive a complimentary large non stick veiner & cutting board and small block of dimpled sponge valued at $45.
Students will gain best results from this class if they have made gumpaste flowers before or attended one of my other flower classes.
